Copal resin comes from a variety of trees (Bursera spp.) that grow in Central and South America, and has a rich and ancient history of use by pre-and-post contact Native American tribes from those areas.
Description
The scent is sweetly coniferous and has permeated rituals in this hemisphere for millennia. It was once used by the Maya and the Aztec people and was later adopted for use as incense in the Roman Catholic Church in Central and South America.

To burn copal resin: Place the resin bits on a pre-lit incense charcoal that has been placed in a nonflammable container.
