Quick Overview
Artist, Kevin D. Fast Horse, honors American Indian tradition with these colorful beaded turtle amulets.

Description
According to Native American tradition, the turtle was honored by the Lakota people because it represented good health and a long life; its shell symbolized protection.

The turtle's special power and stature were conferred to the owner of objects displaying the turtle emblem.

The amulets are made from leather and the beadwork is done with hand-cut Italian glass beads.
